Interviewed in the Manitoban

Last week I did an interview with Tessa Vanderhart, a writer with the University of Manitoba newspaper, the Manitoban, on the implications of Google Print for writers. The article appeared in my Google Alerts yesterday: Google Print launches online library. Have a read and let me know what you think, if you do.

A nice piece. And you're right to raise the pay-for-use issue. As the recent Amazon developments suggest, the industry will start dabbling with micro pay-per-use access before too long.

Does your contract explicitly prevent publication of the book online? If not, uio.com might be a good place to experiment. Maybe a chapter or two for folks to sample online?

cr.

PS. It's life + 50 for print copyright, no?
