So what's this Up in Ontario newsletter all about?
Well, I've written a book entitled Up in Ontario, in case you didn't know. The book is my first novel and I want you to know about it.
The book has been published by Turnstone Press, out of Winnipeg, and is now available in your favourite bookstore. I humbly suggest you head in and check it out. I have a hundred copies here in my living room, and that's just a start.
If you're interested in learning more about the book, a dedicated page is available at http://www.upinontario.com/book/

Blog for Up in Ontario
The origin of the word 'blog' is a contraction of web log. I started to read blogs without even realizing that the form I enjoyed had a name. Then I launched my own. Now, I can hardly stop myself from writing.
I write in the Up in Ontario blog pretty much every day. Sometimes I have a story to tell, sometimes I have a link to point out or something noteworthy to pass on. You might even find some happiness in what you read.
The format of the blog appeals to me. It's like instant gratification for a writer, and hopefully for a reader. And speaking of readers, anyone can also contribute to the Up in Ontario blog, either through the handy comments function available on every posting, or by contacting me and becoming a contributor. I've issues a challenge to all closet storytellers out there to show me their stuff: http://www.upinontario.com/mt/archives/000033.html
Do you want to know when the blog is updated? Send me an email (mailto:james@upinontario.com) and I'll add you to the notify list. Then you'll get a tiny teaser of text every time the blog is updated with a link to the full story. My friend Craig Riggs tells me he can't help himself, he has to click the link to see what's going on.
